Our story

Emily and Charlotte opened a small boutique in Manchester in 1991. Two sisters, one sewing machine inherited from their mother, and a single rule for what went on the rail: would you wear it yourself?

Thirty-five years later that rule has not changed. We still do not chase every trend, only the ones that earn it. Every piece goes through the same test before it reaches you, and if we would not wear it, we do not sell it.

This season the shop passes to Olivia, Emily's daughter, who grew up surrounded by fabrics, patterns and women's fashion, and the whole archive our founders spent decades choosing goes out at up to 70% off.
